EXIF stores details alongside the image pixels. Add a creator credit, correct a camera timestamp, or remove location tags before sharing. Each field has an explicit Keep, Replace or Remove action.

MetadataWhat you can do
Credit & descriptionEdit Artist, Copyright and Image Description. Text uses basic Latin (ASCII) characters.
Capture detailsEdit Date Taken, Camera Make, Camera Model and Software. Dates keep the wall-clock time you enter; no timezone is inferred.
EXIF GPSRemove the entire GPS block, or keep each original’s location tags. Adding or moving coordinates is not supported.
Other EXIF fieldsKeep existing supported tags while editing, or remove all EXIF in one operation. Proprietary maker notes may not round-trip reliably.
XMP, IPTC & commentsReadable XMP and IPTC can appear in the inspector. Editing and EXIF removal leave these separate metadata blocks and JPEG comments unchanged.

One batch. Deliberate changes.

Keep uses each file’s own metadata, so different camera models and capture times stay different. Replace writes the same value to every JPEG in the batch. Remove deletes only that selected field.

Choose an image in the file list to inspect it. After processing, switch between Original and Result to review the actual tags. Download an individual copy, a batch ZIP, or a JSON metadata report.

Before you share.

  1. Check the Result view for GPS tags, creator names, dates and identifying camera details.
  2. Remember that XMP, IPTC, comments, filenames and visible image content can still reveal information.
  3. For a fresh raster export, use Image to JPG. This re-encodes pixels; inspect the exported file and keep your original.

Same pixels. New metadata.

This editor updates JPEG metadata without decoding and re-encoding the image pixels. It does not resize, sharpen or recompress your photo. Downloads create new files, and your original stays untouched.

Removing all EXIF also removes the orientation tag and embedded thumbnail. A photo that relies on that tag may appear rotated afterward. Review the downloaded copy before sharing.

JPEG editing, with clear limits.

Writing supports JPG and JPEG files. For other formats, use the metadata viewer, or convert a copy to JPEG first. Conversion can discard existing tags and transparency.

Metadata can be absent, edited or inconsistent across apps. It is not proof of authorship or authenticity. The inspector shows what the local reader can interpret, not an exhaustive forensic audit.

Your questions, answered.

Which EXIF fields can I edit?

Artist, Copyright, Image Description, Date Taken, Camera Make, Camera Model and Software. Each field can be kept, replaced or removed. Text fields accept basic Latin (ASCII); arbitrary and proprietary tag editing is not supported.

Will editing EXIF reduce image quality?

No image pixels are re-encoded by this editor. Only the metadata is changed. Removing EXIF orientation can change how a viewer displays the image, so review the output.

Does removing EXIF remove all private information?

No. XMP, IPTC, JPEG comments, filenames and the image itself can still contain personal information. The GPS checkbox removes EXIF GPS only. Inspect the result and use a fresh raster export when needed.

Can I keep different dates and camera models in a batch?

Yes. Keep preserves each original’s own value. Replace deliberately writes one shared value to every JPEG. The original files are never overwritten.

Can I edit PNG, WebP, HEIC or RAW metadata?

This editor writes JPEG only. The metadata viewer can inspect supported other formats. Converting to JPEG creates a new copy and may discard original tags or flatten transparency; RAW editing is not included.

Are my photos or GPS coordinates uploaded?

No. Reading, editing, inspection and ZIP creation run in your browser. Your photos and their metadata are not sent to an image-processing API.
